Re: Mach3 and Autoleveller

Why do you need to reset Mach3 variables? The next program you run will simply overwrite them with new values as needed.

Re: Freeze on load OGF

The answer is simple: your file does not have any cutting moves inside the stock (that is, below Z=0). Change your line 9 to G01 Z-0.0500 and it will load.

Of course, that's not an excuse for Autoleveller to freeze, it should handle situations like that more gracefully.

Re: Method for probing acrylic sheet

That is correct, the trigger point is your zero height. What happens to the needle before that point is irrelevant.

Re: Newbie question, no insight found on forum

I use the 'two stage' process where Autoleveler generates a file to do the probing and generates a Raw Probe File (RPF) and take that file and let Autolever combine it into the Original G-code file to generate a final file. I prefer the two-stage process as well. When you make a circuit board, some...

Re: Method for probing acrylic sheet

The needle has about 0.5mm free movement before it activates the photo interrupter. The less free movement, the better, but it does not affect accuracy in any way. My first probe used HOA0971 interrupter which I found in a local store by accident. It has all the pulse forming circuitry already built...

Re: Method for probing acrylic sheet

Foil and water would probably work, although sounds messy.

As for me, a couple years ago I made myself a small probe which I am still very happy with. You can see it here on CNC Zone forum: https://www.cnczone.com/forums/calibrat ... roach.html

Re: AE interface problems

Tried Java 8 update 121 (the earliest version required by Autoleveller AE 0.9.2 and 0.9.4). Still cannot reproduce the problem, so let's just say it was a fluke. I swear I am not making things up, the problem was there right up until the day I decided to complain about it. :?

Re: AE interface problems

Hi James,

I'm using Windows 7 SP1 x86 and x64 (I have seen the problem in both systems). Still trying to capture it on video, but no luck yet. The current Java version is the latest one, 8 update 151. I guess I should try an older version of Java too.

AE interface problems

There seems to be something wrong with the interface of Autoleveller AE since version 0.9.2. I can't believe I am the only one seeing this, but apparently no one else has complained yet. Issue 1: The main menu does not work half of the time. I click "File", the submenu opens ("Original G-code", "Cle...

Re: Problem with lead-in

I guess I'm a trouble magnet. Thanks for the explanation, now I see what is happening. This raises another question though. If only the moves below the stock surface are autolevelled, what happens if the clearance plane in the original file was set too low? For instance, all rapid moves occur ...
