Re: Additional utility

Hi Zig, Thanks for your efforts with this. When I try to download Examples.zip it tells me the file is corrupt. Not to worry though, you have provided a lot of info for me to get on with anyway. In my mind I was always going to look at the end point of any path and look for the nearest new path from...

Re: Leveller first try

Thanks Ken, I thought you were using Mach3 for some reason. Must have got you confused with someone else and I must be getting old  But yes, check the Z has been re-zeroed before any probing. otherwise it might assume Z zero is below the real material surface which might explain the issue here.

Re: Leveller first try

Hi Ken, Thanks for the workaround. That seems like a good rule, i.e. If the program is interrupted for whatever reason and you need to restart the program, reload the file and/or switch off the machine and restart. It might be a Mach3 problem since I don't remember this issue on LinuxCNC and I don't...

AutoLeveller updates

Just added an update for AutoLeveller 0.7.7. If the input gcode file does not state the units (G20/G21) then a dialog box asks the user to manually select either inches or millimeters. Please download the latest if needed: http://www.autoleveller.co.uk/download/ and let me know if there are any majo...

Re: Leveller first try

I think we got our timings crossed but here is what I said on the Yahoo groups if you havent seen it already: "Right at the start, you need to zero your Z axis to approximately 3/8" above the surface of the material, so this could be the cause of the other problems if you didnt do this. http://www.a...

Re: NaN in G code

Hi guys, the Autoleveller assumes that a G20/G21 does exists in the GCode file. My thinking was that this must exist somewhere because otherwise how does the PP know whether the units used for the axis is inches or metric. Anyway, it appears like this is omitted by some programs which is obviously c...

Re: Additional utility

What is interesting about this function to me is that it will be very useful to a lot of people and I don't necessarily need to set up my CNC machine to code and test :D (I can just load the resulting file directly into a CAM program in order to test). This is good for me because I cannot get to my ...

Re: Additional utility

Great Idea, tool path optimization would be a very useful addition for most people I think and I shall add it to my list. I dont know if you were thinking it might be an additional utility or a feature built into the autoleveller itself? I am thinking it would be part of the autoleveller just to kee...
