Love to see support for EMC

I would love to see this support EMC. I tried both the LinuxCNC and MACH variants, both cause balking on my EMC. It could be that I haven't upgraded my EMC in 2+years?

I would second the request for an optimizer too - I've tried others in the past and it cuts milling time by 60+ percent. The problem: I could run either an optimizer or the leveller. I WANT BOTH. Air cuts are frustrating as hell and cutting too deep wipes out fine traces.

FWIW.

Thanks, WoodWorkerB

EDIT
Okay, so I answered my own question. Per the LinuxCNC website "Due to a trademark dispute, after EMC 2.4 the project will be referred to as LinuxCNC - A longer but more descriptive name.". D'oh. I am still running EMC 2.4.6. I guess its been longer than I thought since I used my system! I have downloaded the new ISO and I'll install it and try again. Will advise of progress on my blog.

Okay, Upgraded my system to LinuxCNC 2.5.0. Did a whole new install of OS & LinuxCNC. Went perfectly. Of course, I didn't bother to record any of my stepconfig settings, so had to do all that from scratch. Anyhow, just gave the autoleveller it's first trial, and so far, so good. Later today I will mill the board and see how it goes.
I'm hoping with my new anti-backlash nuts and the 'slop' removed from my stepper-drive screw spider linkage, I'll be able to hold tighter tolerances?!?

Okay then. I cut my PC board today using:
  • Eagle 6.5.0
    PCB-GCODE 3.6.0.4
    LinuxCNC 2.5.0
    AutoLeveller 0.7.7
Some minor odd behaviors, but overall worked perfectly. Board came out excellent. Next time around I will back out my tool a bit more, still cut a bit too deep. Traces that should have been 16 mils came out at about 9 mils. The width was super consistent due to the autolevelling. My traces held their width nicely on both x and y runs - I credit my anti backlash nuts for this, as well as shimming the 'slop' out of my couplings. I will try to update my blog with the image.

I have updated my blog with the complete experience of this latest board run with this autolevelling software.

Just read your blog. Very interesting read.
Really great to see and hear the Autoleveller is working for you. Thanks for the feedback :)
