breakdown lines and arcs

hi,
i really like the autoleveler software and use it a lot.
however i have a little problem with it working together with mach3 tangential control.

in my case i have straight lines to cut with a knife on the cnc. the autoleveler breaks down one line in many smaller g1 segments. mach3 however stopps then at each of this segments. this behavior is only when tangential control is enabled.

is there a way not to break down straight lines in small segments? i am doing many of these cuts on one workpiece so it takes much longer to do the job.

maybe an older version is better suitable or maybe it is easy to change the programm to make the segments longer? in my probe file i use probe distance of 50mm, so if the segments could be in that range that would already help a lot.

thanks,
michael

by the way, if this would not be possible, can autoleveler also handle code with an a axis in the gcode?

I dont think that possible easily (not yet anyway) because AL is tailored to a 3-axis machine. Adding support for a 4th axis would mean a lot of changes to the code. Sorry.

thanks, i can understand the 4th axis is a lot of work and hardly anybody uses it.

but getting bigger line segments is that possible?

Sure, I was thinking of adding that to the new AL8 anyway. You should be able to adjust the maximum segment length to anything you like in AL8. I wont make further changes to the current AL at this point however.

Its probably best if I dont try and give any dates because I am terrible at predicting how long things will take (I'm getting better). I will keep you informed of progress on the AL8 thread in general discussions section though
