Milling won't start - too many lines? (AL 0.7.7)

Hi there,

first of all, let me thank you for this exquisite piece of software. I set it up approx. 3 weeks ago and it has already saved me quite a few hours, not speaking about blank pcb boards and frustration. :P

Today however i came across a problem with a slightly more complex pcb: while bottom side (simpler one) came out perfectly, the topside did not start and it actually "freezed" LinuxCNC (mill did not respond to jog commands after the attempted gcode program start).

When I checked the LinuxCNC status, it showed that the top milling file had (after the processing with autoleveller) approx 65350 lines (the bottom side had approx 30k lines after AL processing).

Could this be the cause of my problem? Could it be remedied by using the member/paid version?

Hi there,

You are probably correct about the member version. But have you tried running the same file through AutolevellerAE? (there is a free version available for download too) I expect this will fix the problem so try this first.

Hi James,

you were right, AutolevellerAE managed to mill the board without problems. Many thanks for your help.

PS. Also, I bought the membership. You deserve every cent!
