AE interface problems

There seems to be something wrong with the interface of Autoleveller AE since version 0.9.2. I can't believe I am the only one seeing this, but apparently no one else has complained yet.

Issue 1: The main menu does not work half of the time. I click "File", the submenu opens ("Original G-code", "Clear OGF", "Raw probe file" etc.), but the submenu is not clickable. If I exit the menu and open it again, it may or may not start working.

Issue 2: Once I open an RPF file, the "Mesh" tab is greyed out. I cannot go back to the "Mesh" tab until I close the RPF file.

P.S. I tried to make a video recording of the issue #1, but now I can't make it fail! I have been clicking the menu for a few minutes, and it just keeps working. :?

Hi,

Thanks for the post. I too would be very interested if anyone else had the problems you describe in Issue 1 as I have never had these problems myself. Which OS are you using? and which Java version are you running?

Issue 2 is deliberate, If you use the RPF for autolevelling then you can't change the mesh settings so I greyed out the Mesh tab to ensure this. I can see that it would be useful to go back to the Mesh tab though especially now the GCode gets drawn here. Will add this to my log of changes to make.

Hi James,

I'm using Windows 7 SP1 x86 and x64 (I have seen the problem in both systems). Still trying to capture it on video, but no luck yet. The current Java version is the latest one, 8 update 151. I guess I should try an older version of Java too.

Tried Java 8 update 121 (the earliest version required by Autoleveller AE 0.9.2 and 0.9.4). Still cannot reproduce the problem, so let's just say it was a fluke. I swear I am not making things up, the problem was there right up until the day I decided to complain about it. :?

:D No Worries, I do believe you, but it doesn't seem to be a problem which is consistent enough to prioritise the fix right now.

As a side note, AE uses JavaFX for rendering the interface, so any issues with the interface are likely related to JavaFX (and Java).
