AutoLeveller freezing?

Post by sockles »

I'm trying to create levelled Gcode with Autoleveller 0.8.3, I bought it, which resolved my arc problems, but now I'm running into this issue where when I go to create levelled gcode, the program creates the new file but then freezes and never finishes creating the file all the way. In other words, I'll wait 5 or so minutes and come back to check the file size of the new autolevelled gcode and it will show 0 bytes. If I try to open that file up, notepad freezes.

I have attached the gcode I need autolevelled.

OK, I suspect that arcs still give problems on occasion and I have spent a few hours trying to find an easy workaround for this.

What I was trying to do was convert all arcs in the gcode file to line segments (G2, G3 to G1) and run the converted file through AL. This should clear up the problems. I know there are post-processor options for this in cambam but I am not knowledgeable about cambam. There is also an option in mastercam for this but I know even less about mastercam. What I was looking for was a general solution to convert arcs to lines which works for all, but alas I did not find anything "good".

I plan to convert arcs to lines internal to AL in the future (probably the next update) which should be more reliable, but for now, if you do get this issue, try converting arcs to lines if possible before running through AL.

Please let me know if you can do this and if it fixed it for you.

P.S. If anyone knows of a good way to convert arcs to lines, let us know. Thanks,
