I use a mechanical touch probe when I work with non conducting materials. After probing and changing to my preferred bit - should I do a "regenerate toolpath" before I continue executing the code or not? I'm using Mach 3.
Thanks I advance
Regenerate toolpath or not?
Re: Regenerate toolpath or not?
Sorry for the late reply. I am not too familiar with Mach3 but I presume "regenerate toolpath" is a Mach3 option and not AL? If you have generated a RPF, loaded it into AL and generated another autolevelled gcode file (i.e. the 2-stage levelling method) which I presume you have, then the toolpaths will have changed slightly in the Z's, and therefore yes, you should probably "regenerate toolpaths".
If you mean the drawing canvas of AL, then no, it does not matter. When you click "autolevel" it will read from whatever files you currently have loaded in generating your gcode, so the image is not used for this. The canvas showing the toolpaths, is updated whenever you change to a new file anyway.
