Re: no autolevel function on 5mm long lines in y direction

I just had a thought on this. The uploaded OGF is probably just a quick test. and the lines within the file are well above Z0. AE wont level any line which is not negative. Could this be the reason for the problems?

Re: no autolevel function on 5mm long lines in y direction

Hey Michael, Thanks for all the information and files attached. It makes it much easier to diagnose. I am using AE 0.9.5u2 which I presume you are too. First I loaded the RPF file into AE which looked fine and as you described. I then loaded the OGF into AE and expected to see a design in the drawin...

Re: Probing not responding 6040 CNC mach3

Are you using a USB controller? For some, the digitize light comes on as normal but probe commands in GCode behave erratically.

Re: Cannot get to run on ubuntu 18.04 java 8 or 11

Thanks. I compiled it with an earlier version of java: java -version java version "1.8.0_171" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_171-b11) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 25.171-b11, mixed mode, sharing) so maybe theres something incompatible with the two java 8 versions and is why recomp...

Re: Regenerate toolpath or not?

Sorry for the late reply. I am not too familiar with Mach3 but I presume "regenerate toolpath" is a Mach3 option and not AL? If you have generated a RPF, loaded it into AL and generated another autolevelled gcode file (i.e. the 2-stage levelling method) which I presume you have, then the toolpaths w...

Re: How to specify probe block height?

Hi, Autoleveller was never designed to use a Z offset like this, it is assumed that you are probing the surface directly with nothing in between. If you are probing a non-conductive surface like wood with only an electrical type probe, try covering the wood in water and a thin piece of tin foil to c...

Re: Autoleveller AE 2 stage levelling question

Just thinking, the problem could be that the RPF has not been loaded into Autoleveller correctly when you generate your levelled file. This would certainly cause the machine to level from the start again. See the 2-stage levelling section here: http://www.autoleveller.co.uk/autoleveller-ae-quick-sta...

Re: Autoleveller AE 2 stage levelling question

Hi and welcome :D OK I think I know what you mean but I could be wrong. In the adjusted file, it will go to the bottom left corner and probe just once. This is because your machine still needs to know where Z 0 is for the first probe point even in the adjusted file, so that your probe mesh can be ap...

Re: G92 codes not being generated in PFG file

Sure. Thats a point worth noting actually. If someone else runs into similar issues with a USB control board, it might be worth using an ethernet or parallel port board instead. If possible.
